【摘要】:ThisdocumentspecifiesmethodsoftestforthedeterminationofthebulkanddrydensityofintactsoilorrockwithinthescopeofthegeotechnicalinvestigationsaccordingtoprEN1997-1andprEN1997-2.Thebulkdensityofasoilisusefulinthedeterminationofthein-situoverburdenstressesatvariousdepth(geostaticstresses).Furthermore,bulkanddrydensitycanqualitativelydescribethemechanicalcharacteristicsofasoilviaempiricalrelationshipswhicharetobefoundinthetechnicalliterature.Suchrelationshipsshouldbeusedonlyasguidelinesandshouldbesupplementedbydirectmeasurementsofthemechanicalcharacteristics.Thisdocumentdescribesthreemethods:a)linearmeasurementsmethod;b)immersioninwatermethod;c)fluiddisplacementmethod.Thelinearmeasurementmethodissuitableforthedeterminationofthedensityofaspecimenofcohesivesoilofregularshape,includingspecimenspreparedforothertests.Thespecimensusedarenormallyintheformofeitherrectangularprismsorstraightcylinders.Theimmersioninwatermethodcoversthedeterminationofthebulkdensityanddrydensityofaspecimenofnaturalorcompactedsoilbymeasuringitsmassinairanditsapparentmasswhensuspendedinwater.Themethodisemployablewheneverlumpsofmaterialofsuitablesizecanbeobtained.Thefluiddisplacementmethodcoversthedeterminationofthebulkdensityanddrydensityofaspecimenofsoilbymeasuringmassanddisplacementofwaterorotherappropriatefluidafterimmersion.Themethodisemployablewheneverlumpsofmaterialofsuitablesizecanbeobtained.
